The DAW software was designed for mobile devices with performance in mind. The app is built to accommodate many types of music creators with a clip player screen, a drum rack screen, and a clip arrangement screen.
The hardware design was an interesting challenge because industrial design is outside my normal skill set, so it forced me to really embrace working with the limitations of physical hardware. The prototype’s housing was 3D printed from a the 3D mockup and then the arcade buttons and knobs were installed.
The branding was done in collaboration with Cory Foster. We focused on creating a brand that didn’t overshadow the tool it represented. It was meant to emphasize the simplicity and the ease of use of the tool while still maintaining the sophistication of the brand.
